Lately on Facebook you might have noticed those seemingly harmless memes that start with “Be Like…” and have a stick figure wearing a knit cap.

You might have even thought, “hey, that’s kind of cool let me try that“.

The moment you click on the link to create your own meme is the moment you fall for the bait.

Yep…it’s called clickbait for a reason…they lure you in with a cutesy harmless meme as bait and once you click on it they get your information.

What? Yeah, sadly you’re not alone…millions of people wanted to be just like Bill.

Blobla, the company that created the “Be Like Bill” meme generator, actually put in their terms of service (the fine print that everyone usually overlooks) the right to use and edit (those who click on the link) their content permanently with “no limit and no recover”. You are essentially trading your information for a few seconds of enjoyment. You have no control over how Blobla uses your information and are prohibited from suing them when they use your pictures, name or information in nefarious ways.

Bottom line: you’re giving Blobla (and any company that offers trivia, games or quizzes) free reign on your content!

So instead of being like Bill…”Be Like Rob“!

Turn the pictures, videos and even SnapChats into meme’s you can use to educate, entertain and engage your audience without falling for clickbait, giving your information away or filling your social media wall with look a like content that just makes you look like a copycat.
