Sir thank you for calling here’s your case number if you need to call back, just reference that number and the person taking your call will be up to speed.
Then you call back, give them the reference number and then spend the next 1/2 hour explaining everything to the person taking the call.
Me: Can’t you just read the notes.
Them: Sir, there is no notes.
Me: Okay then what is the point in giving me a reference number?
Them: Sir all calls are supposed to be given a reference number.
Me: So are you going to give me a reference number before this call is over.
Me: And if I call back will I need to give the next person all my information again.
Me: Then why do you even give reference numbers out.
Them: Because it helps makes the customer happy.
Me: You know what actually makes us happy, is you taking copious notes so we don’t have to repeat ourselves multiple times.
Them: Sir that’s not how it works.
Me: Yes, it is. That’s actually how it’s supposed to work.
