Remember Y2K and how much media hoopla was made.
They made it sound like the “End of Days”.
Well, April 21, 2015 is the day that Google has declared your website needs to be mobile friendly or else.
And sadly, most web companies out is there are screaming to get your attention.
But will it result in “end of days” for your website. NO!
Your website might take a hit and get bumped down the ranks (or not). No one really knows right now.
Even Google is being silent on this.
They do however encourage you to make your website responsive to the needs of those web surfing using their mobile devices. And since mobile browsing now accounts for most of the traffic nowadays doesn’t it make sense to make sure your website is ready. If you need a mobile component to your website and are looking for honest answers my team is ready to help.
Holly, one of my team members, has been designing mobile applications before Apple launched their very first iPhone. And Paul, my web guy, can pretty much do anything with WordPress, so yeah, we’re ready.
Look, I have no idea what Google will do on April 21st, but knowing what I know of Google I wouldn’t hedge my bets against them. How it will affect your website is anyone’s guess. There are rumors and speculation and I’ll be glad to share what I’ve heard. But, seeing that more and more people are viewing websites on their phones and tablets I would say that it’s probably a good idea to make your site mobile optimized.
