How A Kick To The Shin Can Change Your Perspective!
Four years ago while visiting Lourdes, France I was approached by this little girl who couldn’t have been more than 10 years old… she stuck out her hand, and in her palm was a coin.
She looked at me and then looked at the coin.
I thought she meant I dropped the coin and she was returning it to me. So I took the coin out of her hand, said thanks and continued on my walk.
Before I could even think how thoughtful this little girl was, she kicked me in my shin and took the coin out of my hand.
What I thought was a kind gesture turned out this is how she begs for money and I just took a coin out of a little girls hand.
I tell you this story not to make you laugh but to show you an important example of how a little girl can change your perspective and make your internet & social media presence more meaningful to others.
Hi, I’m Rob Anspach, and what I’ve discovered is that the majority of those in business act just like that little girl begging for money.
They have no clear message.
They have no plan.
They hold their hand out in hopes some passerby will recognize what they want. Sometimes it works…other times it ends with a kick to the shin.
Look, if you only know one way to ask for money, will others recognize it?
Each of your fans, friends and followers are different so you need multiple ways to communicate with them.
Constantly using the same message is just like the little girl…it’s only one method…and it’s not a good one. It screams that you’re desperate and begging for a sale.
Learn to communicate…open up…make your business about them, your followers…give people a reason to tell their friends about you.
Make it a habit to share what you do with someone new everyday.
Show them the benefits of doing business with you or just give them a teaser (an intro) into what they could expect from you and your business.
Discover how to effectively communicate what you do with others so they have a reason to trust you, hire you and ultimately refer you to their friends.
