My good friend Gerry Oginski (a New York Medical Malpractice Attorney and creator of the Lawyers Video Studio) posted the below message to his Facebook page and with his permission I thought I would share it, as it’s the perfect example of building trust with your audience.

Gerry OginskiWhen building trust with your online viewer, one of the best ways to illustrate your point is with a story.

“Let me share with you an example of how I was able to help a young woman who had this exact problem…”

Then, proceed to tell your viewer the story.
Keep it short.
Keep it simple.
Keep it relevant to the message in your video.
Then, when you’re done with your story, you MUST tell your viewer WHY you just told them that story.
Do NOT hope your viewer will connect the dots.
Some will.
Most will not.
Then, after you’ve told them WHY you just told that story, you MUST tell your viewer what to do next.
Capice?

Yeah, it’s just that simple. Building trust sounds complicated but in reality it’s downright common sense stuff that most people over look.
