What do you do when someone asks you for a reference?
In this video I answer how to deal with customers who have been referred to you, but for some reason or another now want a reference or a list of references to contact for further evaluation or to determine if they will hire you.
Here’s how to handle those pesky reference requests…
say…
“I don’t give out references. In the past I did, but as demand for my services grew I stopped. All my work comes from referrals. Referrals just like (name of referral) gave to you. Or from my books (or videos). Which I gladly offered to you as a way to get to know me.”
Or you can turn the tide on them and request they give you a reference on people they have hired so you can call about their experience.
