What do you do when someone asks you for a reference?

In this video I answer how to deal with customers who have been referred to you, but for some reason or another now want a reference or a list of references to contact for further evaluation or to determine if they will hire you.

Here’s how to handle those pesky reference requests…
I don’t give out references. In the past I did, but as demand for my services grew I stopped. All my work comes from referrals. Referrals just like (name of referral) gave to you. Or from my books (or videos). Which I gladly offered to you as a way to get to know me.

Or you can turn the tide on them and request they give you a reference on people they have hired so you can call about their experience.
