The year was 2008 and I officially threw my conscious into this social medium forum…and, at first, it was a bit overwhelming.

I, like so many, grew frustrated at the constant changes that where happening every few months to the various formats. But, I vowed to make a “go of it”.
I started writing about my adventures in social media land, which led to speaking gigs and writing for a magazine. But I was torn.

You see, I was still the owner/operator of a small carpet cleaning company. A company I had created in 1995. But now, here I was not only cleaning carpet, I was also teaching people around the globe how to make social work better for them. I had to make a choice. I couldn’t keep myself grounded serving the local community and also be in demand by the global environment.

So I made a decision!

A decision that ultimately proved so worthwhile, my wife wondered why I hadn’t done it years ago.

I sold the cleaning business and focused all my energies into teaching, speaking, writing and helping clients create trust with their audience.

By 2016 I had written 4 books…two on social media, one about search engine optimization and one about life lessons. I’m currently writing 3 books for clients and ghostwriting articles and blogs for lawyers, doctors and professionals from all walks of life.

Yeah, very different then going out and scrubbing rugs for a living, right? Now, I get to travel, meet new people, experience life outside of my little town.

I changed my stars!

The picture above is my constant reminder that if I believe enough, take action, put in effort…I can change the stars. And I can keep changing them!

You can change your stars too!

What you’re doing right now…your job (or lack of one)…doesn’t dictate who you are. Nor does it define you. You have to believe! And you have to keep that belief strong inside of you and use it to fuel your desire to be better.

Does it take time? Heck yeah!

For me it was a journey of 20 years. But without those years I might not have gained the experience, the life lessons and the knowledge to help others change their stars.

I wrote the above blog almost 5 years ago and I still reference it and to still believe whole-heartily that anyone can change their stars if they so choose.

I’ve now produced over 30 books for myself and clients, have a podcast called E-Heroes where I’ve interviewed over 150 entrepreneurs and teach entrepreneurs all over the globe how to use their gifts to be better at what they do.

My gift is sarcasm and common sense. 

Now I know what you’re thinking…

If you don’t like what you are doing, or think the rules are flawed or you want more out of life…you have the power to change your stars. So do it. If I can, I know you can too.
