Actual Phone Call

After receiving a potential clients name and some basic information the call went like this…


Potential Client Q: “So can I expect immediate results?”

My A: “How immediate?”

Potential Client: “Within the next 3 weeks”

My A: “Why?”

Potential Client: “That’s when my money runs out and I need to be able to generate enough to continue with you”

My A: “Pass”

No Longer Potential Client: “What do you mean Pass?”

My A: “If you are that cash-strapped and betting the farm on one last gamble, honestly…that’s not me. Although I’ve been known to pull rabbits out of hats and impress the heck out of clients with fast web ranking and social authority…I will not take you on as a client.”

No Longer Potential Client: “Why? Don’t you like a challenge?”

My A: “Oh, I love challenges…but, I will not be the person you blame because you ran out of money. Been down that road way too many times, and it never ends well. Sure I get paid, but your anticipation of a wind fall of cash in a short amount of time is unrealistic. Just because I can rank your website fast and redevelop your social media to make your more human, more relatable, more reachable and more accepting doesn’t mean your audience will instantly trust you or fall in love with you…that takes time”

No Longer Potential Client: “So are we talking 4 weeks then?”

My Response: (Click)

End Call

Some people just aren’t worth the hassles of taking on as clients. If they expect unrealistic goals in a short amount of time or don’t have the money necessary to invest in your service the right way…my advice is to get rid of them fast.
