Them: I thought you were the master at SEO, why do you say most likely?

Me: I find that some sites, those designed to be more cut and paste for the DIY’er tend not to be SEO friendly even if they advertise they are.

Them: So you can’t optimize them

Me: I can, but my fee to do so tends to be more than the cost they shelled out for that site initially

Them: Oh

Me: And those sites tend to take longer to rank in the search engines even when properly optimized

Them: Ah

Me: Yup, that’s why I say most likely.

Them: Okay

Me: So do you have a site you want me to look at?

Them: Hmm, no.

Me: You have one of those cut and paste sites don’t you?

Them: Yes

Me: It’s time to upgrade then…my team can help build you a new site, that’s optimized, mobile friendly and starts to rank on the search engines almost immediately.

Them: Can’t right now no budget for a new website, could you recommend someone cheap that could help us with SEO

Me: Do you want someone good or cheap? Because you already went down the road with a cheap website and see where that got you.

The person unfriended and blocked me.
