Caller: Yes Po-to-mac Edison…we are letting you know your electric will be shut off in 45 minutes if you don’t agree to pay today.
Me: Oh, okay…just shut it off then.
Caller: Sir, we are serious. If you don’t pay immediately your electric will be shut off.
Me: Good…shut it off!
Caller: We are scheduled to shut if off today.
Me: Today? I thought you said 45 minutes.
Caller: Sir, I don’t think you understand the situation. We will shut off your electric.
Me: Yes, I understand. Please send the guy over and disconnect the electric.
Caller: Do you have a Walgreens near by?
Me: A Walgreens?
Caller: Yes, sir…can you get to a Walgreens and then I’ll tell how to proceed to pay us.
Me: Nah, send your guy over and shut off the electric.
Caller: Sir, if you go to Walgreens we can prevent your electric from being shut off.
Me: Nah, I want to see your technician get here in the next 45 minutes…because that’s one hell of a drive considering I’m about 100 miles away and not served by Potomac Edison and don’t fall for stupid scams like this.
The caller told me to ‘F” off and I shouldn’t waste his precious time, then he hung up.
