In every service based business obtaining leads can be expensive if done the wrong way.

And online marketing may not alway produce the right leads for your business. But the concept I’m going to teach you right now, will have you dominating the neighborhoods you want to be in. You know the ones…the manicured lawns, the gated communities, exotic cars in every driveway.

Here’s how it works… and you may need to do a bit of field work here, but it’ll be worth it. Select the neighborhoods you wish you could do more work in. Say you have 5 pristine neighborhoods that maybe contain 250 houses total (so about 50 homes per neighborhood). Well you start out with 100 names…you will add more as needed, I’ll explain in a bit.

First you select the addresses you wish to target. Then you mail them a postcard or letter or something that tells them about your service. Maybe you get a few calls. Great. But don’t expect a huge number to respond, they wont. But they will, eventually.

Next, you subtract any callers who responded from your initial mailing that actually booked service. Then you add a new name to your 100 address list.

Ten days from the first mailing you mail out another postcard, or letter or pamphlet or whatever. Again don’t expect big wins. You might only get a few clients. That’s okay. You remove those names that became clients and add new names to your 100 address list.

Ten days later, you are mailing to your list again. And just like the prior 10 days removing names who became clients and adding new names.

You keep repeating this process every 10 days until you’ve dominated those neighborhoods.

The reason this simple process works is that not only are people seeing your mailing piece over and over, but the neighborhoods are seeing your service vehicles constantly which reassures them you can be trusted.

If you’re a smaller company just starting out 50-100 mailings every 10 days is really all you need to jump start your business. As you grow and want to dominate more neighborhoods faster than maybe 500-1000 mailings every 10 days will work for you.

Oh and once you’ve gained someone’s trust (example: did a great job) you ask them for referrals. Which then you create a referral mailing list and target them the same way.
