#1 Ask for referrals – if you would just ask you’d be surprised at how many satisfied clients would give you 3-5 names of friends just like them who need your services. But you have to ask.
#2 Ask for reviews – yup, you have to ask. Get into the habit of telling people where they can send or post the reviews. I love hand written reviews (testimonials). But with services like Yelp, Facebook, Google and more, you need a system in place that shows them how to leave those reviews. Make it simple for your clients to leave those reviews.
#3 Ask for the sale – again with the asking. After your happy clients have given you a list of their friend’s names you need to reach out to them with a letter, postcard or email and let them know what’s in it for them to buy from you. You are asking them based on your friends recommendations and reviews to trust you so you can sell them on whatever it is you’re offering.
Those 3 things sadly most entrepreneurs forget to do and in fact will spend thousands of dollars on ads to try to attract clients that they could have gotten for FREE just by asking.
Yeah, but Rob, it can’t be that easy can it?

Unfortunately, because most businesses overcomplicate their processes they fail to understand the principles of the power of asking.
