Does being your authentic self work on videos?

Hi, I’m Rob Anspach and let me explain to why being authentic actually has more power then what you think.
Recently, a woman named Candace Payne made a video with a Chewbacca Mask, maybe you saw it. In the 3 weeks since that video went viral she’s gained over $420,000.00 in gifts from sponsors all over the world. From Kohls to Star Wars itself. Walt Disney Studios bought her to have a family vacation at the parks. She’s gotten appearances on TV shows. The reason why her video went viral is because it was authentic…it wasn’t scripted in any way, shape or form. She had this infectious laugh (kind of a cackle) and people loved it. She wasn’t trying to sell anything, she wasn’t trying to impress anybody she was just trying to be her authentic self.
So why do I share this?
You know, we’re all trying to make videos. Because right now videos are hot. I know some people that have thousands of videos and others are struggling to get their videos out there. So what I’m saying to you is that it’s okay if you need to script your video it may not go viral like Candace Payne’s Chewbacca video but if you can ad lib, like I am now. I’m actually in my backyard near my fire pit. Going and speaking to people being authentic you’re going to have more credibility in the market place. So if you know your product, if you know your service, if you know your customers just be your authentic self. That’s all people really want.
They don’t need to be sold on you. If they really feel a connection to you thats all you need to build trust. So anyway this is Rob Anspach, I hope you found this helpful. And I want you to go out there and be your authentic self. Make videos and just speak from the heart. And I guarantee you you’ll get more business being authentic then you will trying to have a scripted video.
