Deep Inside Of You Is A Story Waiting To Be Told!
How you choose to tell it is up to you. Do you make it into a mystery that the reader needs to solve? Or perhaps a “how to” that showcases a life lesson to help another overcome the frustrations they may be feeling?
Your stories are as unique as your fingerprints. No two are a like. We may have similar adventures throughout our lifetime, but our experiences will always be different. It’s your story.
In my book, “Share:27 Ways To Boost Your Social Media Experience, Build Trust and Attract Followers” the very first chapter is about “Sharing Your Story”. Here’s the complete chapter…

“No man can walk out on his own story!“- Rango
Every one of us has a story to tell…and like most people, we enjoy listening to those stories. Is every story a good story? No! But, when we learn to tell our story, just like riding a bike, we become better at it the more we do it.
A man lives on a farm, he writes to his son in prison – I can’t grow potatoes this year. I’m too old to be digging up the field. Soon he gets a letter back from his son. You can’t dig in the field, that’s where I buried the bodies! The next morning the police came. They dug up the entire field but found nothing. Soon the farmer gets another letter from his son. Now Dad, you can grow potatoes. It was the best I could do from here.
I love telling that story. I bet you love a great story, don’t you? I know I do!
I remember as a kid, my parents would tell me stories of long lost relatives, and it intrigued me. I would fantasize about life so long ago. I can picture in my mind the motorcycle accident my grandfather was involved in, which claimed the sight of his right eye. I was never there, in fact I wasn’t even born when it occurred… but the stories I’ve been told… I can see it as it really happened.
Or, how my wife’s grandfather would tell the story of how he came to America in the early 1950’s from southern France to Pennsylvania with just fifty dollars in his pocket.
If you ever get to meet my friend Sal, he kind of looks like Emeril. He can hook you in with his stories, his life growing up in New York, and his experiences being a boxing coach…you just don’t want him to stop. It’s riveting.
I even get a “kick” out of my brother-in-law telling me about his karate adventures. It’s all about storytelling!
I recently did an interview with Joe Sugarman for my “Passions to Profits” audio interview series. If you don’t know who Joe is…well, besides being one of the foremost experts on copywriting, the guy responsible for launching BluBlocker sun glasses and author of many awe inspiring marketing & advertising books, he is also a master storyteller. He would dramatize an offer to make it interesting and before long you felt like you needed whatever he had more than air itself. Joe would weave stories about his experiences into his sales letters, advertising pieces and even his infomercials. Those stories would build drama, curiosity, fear or excitement. He would make you laugh or cry. He would get you involved and make you part of the story. And in the end, he would ask you to do something… buy the product! Yep, a great storyteller can capture people’s attention and get them to take action. And, in most cases that means added revenue.
Do you have a story to tell? I bet you do! I bet your story, how you became an entrepreneur is fascinating. You should tell it.
“Your story may not have such a happy beginning, but that doesn’t make you who you are, it is the rest of your story, who you choose to be… So, who are you?” -Kung Fu Panda 2
In the social media world especially, most people don’t know you or don’t have a reason to trust you. Sharing your story will give them a reason to know more about you and trust you enough to either follow you or buy from you. I’m curious… What makes you…YOU? What inspired you to start a business? How did you meet your spouse? What’s with the nickname? How did you come up with your boat’s name? How did you win that award? There’s a story there! Learn to share it!
We can help with your story! Help you share that story to build trust and attract followers and to ultimately create a relationship with your clients that boosts your profits. Ready? Give us a call to get started.
