Spent the last 4 evenings volunteering as a security guard for the local Hispanic Festival.
Got to tell people “no fumar” (no smoking) and where the “baños” (bathrooms) were. Also spent time guarding the bean counters, telling kids to stop jumping the fence and helped out with directing traffic.
Some nights it was raining, other nights just very hot.
But I got to meet some great people, listen to fantastic music and try out new foods.
Volunteering gets you out of your comfort zone and allows you to experience something new while helping others.
