At 6:30 this morning (time stamped) somebody on LinkedIn sends me this…
“Rob, It’s been a while since we talked and I have a quick question. What type of investing are you doing now?”
I reply at 8am… “Been awhile since we talked? Have we ever talked?”
Apparently that is all it took… the person unfriended me.
Had this person stuck around he would have learned my answer…and it probably would have changed the way he approaches people who don’t recall ever have a conversation with him before.
So the answer to this the person’s question although hidden behind a somewhat deceptive introduction is, “I invest in building relationships first!”
When you invest in building the relationship first you create trust with your audience and when they are ready they will come to you for the sale.
You don’t sell them first then try to build the relationship.
Invest in building relationships first!
